want to see the UK cover of the hitchcock hotel?
I haven’t been around for a while, I know. Per usual, I’ve been busy putting too many irons in the fire at once. Professionally, that means working through copyedits on THE HITCHCOCK HOTEL, pitching book 4 to my agent, brainstorming a TV series, and lightly researching book 5! On the personal side, I’ll be moving later this year, hopefully (finally) buying a house for the first time ever, and so on and so forth. 2024 is shaping up to be a BIG year, which means my poor Substack has fallen down the list of priorities.
But I’m here now! Today I’m pumped to share with you the UK cover of my new book. In case you missed the past couple posts, here’s the synopsis:
A Hitchcock fanatic with an agenda invites old friends for a weekend stay at his secluded themed hotel in this fiendishly clever, suspenseful new novel from the international bestselling author of Darling Rose Gold Stephanie Wrobel.
Alfred Smettle is not your average Hitchcock fan. He is the founder, owner, and manager of The Hitchcock Hotel, a sprawling Victorian house in the White Mountains dedicated to the Master of Suspense. There, Alfred offers his guests round-the-clock film screenings, movie props and memorabilia in every room, plus an aviary with fifty crows.
To celebrate the hotel’s first anniversary, he invites his former best friends from his college Film Club for a reunion. He hasn’t spoken to any of them in sixteen years, not after what happened.
But who better than them to appreciate Alfred’s creation? And to help him finish it.
After all, no Hitchcock set is complete without a body.
Now that the scene is set, fire up the drum roll in your head. Ready? Here she is…
Delicious, right?! I love that the typeface looks ripped straight from the Vertigo movie poster. The long shadow of the doorway and the figure walking through it brings to mind The Thomas Crown Affair. And the jagged black border framing the red background sets the perfect tone for the chaotic events to come.
In the UK, the book publishes 10/10. In the US, it comes out 9/24. As always, links to pre-order are below:
What do you think? Which do you like better: the UK or US cover? I’m having a hard time choosing!
Happy almost spring,
